Jabber Whacky #1000
After seeing her first bout in 2006, it took a few years to actually lace up.
In 2010, Jabber Whacky started playing a totally different co-ed rule set for over four years with Chesapeake Roller Derby. When CRD dissolved in the summer of 2014, Jabber joined Free State Roller Derby (which has since earned their WFTDA membership) and skated off and on with the RockVillians (B Team). After relocation to Rochester, Jabber signed up to play with Roc City, and Flour City Fear even lets her skate a little with them.
When she's not getting knocked around by other derby players, Jabber enjoys time on the backs of Equus caballi, convincing them that jumping over pieces of wood and going around in circles (akin to derby, but both directions) is fun.
AGE: Proud member of Roller Derby Over 40
LIKES: Camaraderie found on the track, engineering, eventing ("that's a horse thing"), generally being a nerd
DISLIKES: "when my feet don't go where I want them to on the track", extraneous apostrophes, "when I'm the only one dancing"
WHY ROLLER DERBY? "I didn't want to be 80 years old and wonder why I never tried it."
WHAT IS THE MOST OBSCURE FACT YOU KNOW? "Horses cannot vomit."
