Roc City Roller Derby v.s Rubber City Rollergirls

Roc City Roller Derby - Sunday, April 19, 2009
What an exciting bout. I can't say it better than Emmeline Spankhurst, so I won't:

"Gals, let me tell you, it was well played by Roc City!

RCRD had an honest and decisive win (114 Roc City Roller Derby to 87 for Rubber City Rollergirls) . Our Jammers were great, Liza had a ten-point jam, Jewpowski had an eight point jam. I don't remember the high points for Audrey, Thea and Candi but they all scored well and consistently.

Our defense was absolutely stellar! Eva literally charged at one of Rubber City's Jammers in what has to be the most sensational block I've ever seen her deliver. JoJo and Roxy both played better than I have ever seen them play. I think Roxy landed every single one of her blocks and JoJo did an excellent job of staying in Rubber City's way. Goldie and VenJence both shined in the Pivot spot. Hater and Jacky moved around the track to get where they needed to be and delivered hits w/ precision. I don't think I've ever seen anyone look as happy and satisfied in the penalty box as Harriet did. She was beaming and she played a great game. Stabbity played a solid inside blocker and delivered hits when they counted.

Everybody played hungry and it was great to see our girls win.

Funniest (or saddest depending on how you see it) moment: Liza had three minors and kept trying to draw a fourth so she could get in the box before her Jam came up. THE REFS IGNORED HER AS SHE TRIPPED AND SHOVED. Wow!

This bout was awesome!
