Harriet Beecher Ass hails from the Great Pacific Northwest. After getting involved with Roc City Roller Derby, she fell head-over-wheels for the sport, and is enjoying learning all blocker positions. As a former competitive swimmer she has found that the butterfly stroke rarely comes in handy on skates, so she credits her older brothers with years of “pre-training” to prepare her to give and take solid hits. Like her namesake of Harriet Beecher Stowe, this rollergirl is an avid reader who enjoys community involvement and thoughtful activism, bringing much dedication to her work in the philanthropic side of RCRD as the head of the committee charged with charitable giving.
