WHY ROLLER DERBY? "Since the first time I saw roller derby, I was hooked by the athleticism, the hard hits, and its unapologetic support of women, many in marginalized communities. After volunteering at individual games, I decided to join a local league in 2013 and started my skating training. I've been constantly amazed by passion and generosity of the skaters, officials, volunteers and fans of the sport ever since. Roller derby has provided a welcoming community for my wife and I as we've moved across the country. You also get to roller skate, and that's the best."
WHAT IS THE MOST OBSCURE FACT YOU KNOW? "The man who made country music widely available on the radio in the 1930s was a huckster country doctor in Kansas who built a radio empire by advertising his experimental surgeries where he implanted goat testicles into impotent men (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_R._Brinkley)."
